Geert Hofstede developed a theory of management that recognizes the differences between diverse cultures. In an increasingly global economy, Hofstede's theory is perhaps even more relevant to businesses today than it was when he first developed it.

Hofstede’s Cultural Dimension was published in the 1970s with four dimensions that could distinguish one culture from the other. Later the fifth and sixth dimensions were added so that it can become the best standard for understanding cultural differences in the international arena. In 1980, Geert Hofstede published his monumental work Cultures Consequences, which laid out four dimensions on which the differences among national cultures could be understood: individualism, power distance, uncertainty avoidance, and masculinity Pris: 510 kr. Geert Hofstede, Ph.D., is professor emeritus of Organizational Anthropology and International Management at the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands. Gert Van Hofstede, Ph.D., is a biologist and professor of Information Systems at Wageningen University, the Netherlands, and the son of Geert Hofstede.
